Loopcast 008 – Mayer Hawthorne
mayerhawthorne pic03 Loopcast 008 Mayer Hawthorne Mayer Hawthorne has become a success story for Michigan music. After years within the Detroit and Ann Arbor hip-hop scenes, the DJ/producer we all know as Haircut (born Andrew Cohen) exploded on the music circuit as the soul music crooning Mayer Hawthorne. With the release of 2009′s A Strange Arrangement on Stones Throw Records, Mayer didn’t know what would become of this project, but it had the right ingredients to fall into the hearts of a who’s who of the music industry and music lovers of all ages. With his major label debut on Universal Republic with How Do You Do, Mayer Hawthorne has found more of a foothold on his own sound, combining all the elements of his musical and environmental upbringing.

Recently, while on tour with Chromeo, The Loop Detroit was able to chat with Mayer Hawthorne while he was eating some soup about the new album, Ann Arbor, family, clothes, and food for the latest Loopcast.
